Hello Everyone,
Do you exercise when you have a cold? I've had doctors tell me not to and when I try to run then it seems to get worse. What do you all do? I'm getting lots of liquids of course and trying to eat less, but healthy. Thanks! Tom |

Thanks much for the good insights and advice.
Yes, I've been staying away from the gym.. and the doughnuts :-) |

For a simple ("common") cold, probably makes no difference provided you can breathe and you are running solo (and this not infecting others). Influenza will give you such severe muscle aches that you will not want to exercise and probably should not try until you are clearly on the mend.
Most folks will find that their appetite for exercise is quite low in the early stages of most acute viral illnesses. Most viral illnesses are at their most contagious early in the course of the disease. In fairness to others, best to stay away from gyms and common-use equipment until the symptoms have more or less resolved. |
