For short, Capt'n O seems even better... ;)
My 'oh darn' was exactly what I said to myself when I read it. lol My 'thanks for that info' was really for the protein info you gave, appreciate it. (I wasn't trying to be a wise ass twice) :) |

yes, thats why i pointed out that protein powder comes from egg whites as well (although its an expensive product). I dont know that I would be that concerned about it as woman though. At some point your ability to grow muscle is a function of free testosterone, not protein. Its just that protein also contains the amino acids, creatine, etc that muscles need in small quantities to grow and regenerate. Diets rich in vegatables and lean protein are also good ways to maintain weight. So even a "bad protein" shake is better than a brownie, or chips as a snack.

" Also, there is protein powder made from egg whites, use it rather than whey. "

Use protein shakes as a meal replacement, only if needed, not in addition to meals. Add milk to the powder. Also, there is protein powder made from egg whites, use it rather than whey. finally, nuts, lean pork, and fish (like tuna) are a good source of protein. Don't forget about them.

Thanks, I'm just taking a couple of different vitamins right now. I'm eating a lot of high protein foods, but my veggie intake is not as good everyday as it should be. I do like Scooby... I'm finding him helpful too. :)

DITTO..
Scooby Workshop is a standard for me too. He is the only person who cares to give a science references and publications as support of what he is saying. |

Kinddragon, I know you posted this topic a while ago, but I have got to say that you should be careful in taking supplements. Some of them screw with your body's ability t normally process nutrients. Instead, research nutrient rich food sources with cross-core macro nutrients (high proteins, carbs, etc in one food). Foods are the best fuel for your metabolic rate (BMR) and supplements should be for a little extra.
For the last two years, I've relied on Scooby's Workshop as a sounding board and a litmus test on workouts and diet. He's geared toward body builders but most of his advice is good. Plus he's 52 and looks decades younger. |
