I actually did read all 3. It was fun. The characters are fun (and often times annoying). It's pretty vanilla to us, but it was an enjoyable tale. This kind of book is supposed to be entertaining and to me, my wife, and I guess millions of others, it was. It's not much different than watching something like 9 1/2 weeks.

I've not read the "50 Shades" books, but I've read "of" them and read brief passages.
My take: * It's bad porn. More like "Harlequin meets Penthouse Forum". * Does nothing to advance closeness between the genders. The episodes of restraints and impact play are dispensed casually, almost irresponsibly, and do not speak to the larger intimacies and understandings that are best to be in place for these types of encounters. Sets back BDSM 50 years. * Makes guys think women want to be tied up and have the ass whipped. Be extra careful when seeing a guy for the first time with online dating now, ladies. |

I started the first book of 50 shades a month ago and havent gotten past page 121. Maybe its me but I am having a hard time getting into the book. I think it could be that being in the lifestyle I have seen alot and so far this book seems tame. Of course when I talk to my vanilla friends they cant put it down, its like porn to them...LOL

sweettart, if she can write better than the author of 50 Shades, maybe she should do it! Write one with the rolls reversed, with a female dom and a male sub. It is far from unheard of in the right community, and would be exceedingly titillating for the millions of vanillas out there.

Loved the Gilbert Godfried reading as well as the Ellen Dengeneres one. My spelling may be off - oh well...I'll have another martini :-)

I followed that link to Gilbert this morning (from another site that allows links)... I couldn't stop laughing!
Just can't bring myself to posting it on FB, |

Ran across a youtube vid of Gilbert Gottfried reads 50 Shades of Grey and some reviews that were mostly critical.
