Seven Pounds made me say "Yaaaawn" at the end.

Three Men and a Baby may have made money back in the 80s, but it has not stood the test of time. There are a lot of films that made money in the 1980s that just don't stand up. If you notice, most of them have somebody who was a star on television at the time.

You seldom see any of them rebroadcast anymore.

A Fistfull of Dollars has stood the test of time. So has Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassady and the Sundance Kid, and any other number of films routinely shown on cable or local television, often on weekends.

I really have to wonder how the Lifetime channel stays afloat.

Is the box office smash, "Three men and a Baby" a chick flick?

Now I really liked Seven Pounds. To me it was solid, great story line, and made you say damn at the end.

I think alot of teenagers and young kids probably went with their parents to see GIJoe, just an opinion.

Sometimes Hollywood types try to make a chick flick weepy and dreary enough to earn an Oscar nomination and it backfires.

That horrid Will Smith movie "Seven Pounds" comes immediatly to mind. Commercial flop and critical failure.

I didn't say GI Joe was a great movie in terms of quality. I said it was entertaining as it had gunfights, swordfights, ninjas and chicks in tight leather.

All of which the average person finds far more entertaining than weepy, drearie and boring... Which is why it cleaned house at the box office.

Porn is not the real world.

-Meanwhile, back in the real world, a lot of people seem to think mindless action is more entertaining than weepy drearie chick flicks.

More people read about Elvis's love child in the National Inquirer than read any major city newspaper. Sometimes "popular" is NOT a ringing endorsement.

Compare the box office tally for GI Joe to the tally for Julie and Julia....
