We recieve e-mails all the time from couples who are hwp and who's profile states that they are only looking for is fit people.
I always point out to them the while my wife is hwp I'm not. I have also learned that it's always the husband writing and his wife has no idea he is doing so and once she does see our profile they disappear. |

"I simply ran with it and success hit harder than a sack of hammers."
Dang I wish I could say that! LOL! I ran with it and success crawled as slow as a turtle. ...perhaps 51 year olds run slower though. lol. I really really never thought I could/would do it at all, so I'm very pleased and I feel much better ....and that's what matters. |

That should have read "no pun intended." My phone's auto correction should be shot.

thanks for the pertinent info folks. there was a study about twins that were separated at birth which also pointed to genetics but my brief search didn't turn it up. Truth be told( again )these anti fat threads are born out maliciousness from the op to another member.

I don't know what constitutes a "valid" study.....but, wiki says:
Like many other medical conditions, obesity is the result of an interplay between genetic and environmental factors. Polymorphisms in various genes controlling appetite and metabolism predispose to obesity under certain dietary conditions. The percentage of obesity that can be attributed to genetics varies widely, depending on the population examined, from 6% to 85%.[2] As of 2006, more than 41 sites on the human genome have been linked to the development of obesity when a favorable environment is present.[3] |

I am enjoying many of your posts. It really is a sensitive subject.
Paragon, Congrats to you!!! Amazing really. I agree with you, we all 'can' do it if we really choose to. May I ask what motivated you so, to make such changes? I've made some surprising changes myself this past year. It hasn't been easy, and I still have more to go, but I often wonder what stopped me from doing this sooner. For me, when I turned 50, I just started thinking differently. Something clicked for me and then I started actually believing in myself that I really could do it. |
