I feel very excited. ...(such a little thing she is tho, i swear i dont think she is even a zero!)lol She thinks the fact that I drink ZERO water and do not eat breakfast at all, nor my meals at the right times is a HUGE reason why I do not have much success with my attempts. I knew it was important... so aside from keeping my calories down.... my water and meal times is my biggest hurdle to overcome. Sed, do you agree with 'how huge' that matters? Here's a problem tho... I CAN eat low calorie, but I find it extremely difficult to eat low calorie and 'very' CLEAN at the same time! It starts to overwhelm me, ...plus I think 'most' clean foods taste gross. So I am not going to concentrate on 'very' Clean right now. Instant oatmeal it will have to be for this yucky breakfast i dont want to swallow. Healthy vs Clean are very different sometimes. I will stay mindful of healthy. Smoking.... oh boy! Total!! I am so proud of you!!!! And I have no doubt that you will get your body back to exactly the way YOU want it to be, no matter what the size number is! Just stay patient (and not for nothing, you still 'look' amazing so hang on to that) I would love to have you as a fatsecret buddy!! :) I have to spend time there tonite and see if I can print out the daily logs so I can have the for the PT too. Writing down what goes in our mouths is hard cause I am a picker... sometimes I think I may have eaten a meal by the time I'm done cooking it! ..its hard to judge fingerfuls of stuff, so I just have to stop doing that. Everytime I try to change my eating habits I am compelled to quit smoking at the same time because they are both so very important. I am not going to do it this time! I can't take the pressure and I set myself up for failure on both. I have chosen weight loss first. I do not have room in my short body for anymore pounds. My lungs will have to wait until I get this underway.... *sighing

It can be a real surprise when we stop and think about what we eat, I sometime say to myself,"you didn't eat that much today" then I stop and think about it. and i remember that little debbies snack cake I had before lunch and the had full of m&m's and the cookies I snatched on the way out of the kitchen, or the half a bag of kisses I went through during the day. I 've learn that it's the little things i eat through out the day that really add up.

User Details are only visible to members.	sweettart, these stop smoking pounds are awful lol. And yes, after seeing exactly, what I ate, I was surprised myself. Writing your food down helps A LOT! And I utilize the little journal on fatsecret too, just to write down food related thoughts, fears and hopes. It does help to see it in front of me, instead having everything churning together in my head.

User Details are only visible to members.	kind, you can set your account to be viewed by buddies only. I actually WANT my friend to be able to see my food diary, to kind of keep me in check. Say, if you and me become buddies on fatsecret, we will be able to view each other's calendars, but my friend will not be on your friends' list, so he will not see anything. You see what I mean? And yes, even though I have been a size 4 (for most part, all the manufacturers size their stuff differently), and now, I am "only" a size 6, it feels awful. Thank goodness, I do have some elastic waist pants lol! I do not want to buy any bigger pants! To me, that would equal agreeing to being a bigger size, and that is not happening! On the other hand, Wearing clothes, that are too small, will make you look bad, so I simply try not to wear pants now. Thank goodness, it is warm here, and I can go with my summer dresses and skirts, they fit me better. kind, if you would like to be buddies on fatsecret, you can e-mail me privately, and we will go from there. User Details are only visible to members.	Total. I quit smoking once, for 6 yrs. I put on 60lbs in the first three months and 20 more in the following three. Lets be really honest for most people including my self. It's not how much we eat but what we eat, and the lack of exercise we do.

"OK, OK, before anyone jumps my ass for sticking my skinny nose in BBW forum, I do have my reasons to lose weight." --- ...we don't jump asses here! lol!!! ;) Any extra pounds on anyone 'feels' the same... if your clothes dont fit, they just dont fit. ...altho I have a friend who is a size zero and sometimes she compares her 4 ounces to my 40 pounds as being the same, and it really isn't.... but it's her way of saying she can relate to the feeling. ...sort of. :-0 hey ty, i joined fatsecret dot com too... but didnt spend time there yet. what man will be watching me????? lmao!

User Details are only visible to members.	I missed the part about 40lbs in 6 months. I hate to say this, and don't mean to urinate on anyone's parade, but that is a set up for failure. If you want to succeed, you have to remember the following: It took you a lifetime to put the weight on, don't rush to take it off. When you do, you are shocking your system, your metabolism goes into shock mode (aka starvation mode) and starts holding on to fat while burning lean muscle tissue for energy. As the initial water weight comes off, weight reduction will ALWAYS slow down. This is the time when most people get discouraged and fall off the wagon. Taking time in dropping the weight allows your body and metabolism to adjust and get used to the change without much shock or triggering the starvation mode. Small goals, once achieved, you set new ones. Never ever set up huge goals.

User Details are only visible to members.	Hey kind, I don't think you should aim for "40 lbs in 6 months thing", because 40 lbs is a lot and this kind of a goal is hard to achieve. Actually, 5 pounds in 6 weeks sounds like something anyone might do, so I would go for that! Hell, I would love to lose 5 pounds myself now! OK, OK, before anyone jumps my ass for sticking my skinny nose in BBW forum, I do have my reasons to lose weight. After stopping smoking (almost 9 weeks! Yay!), I put on a bunch of pounds in no time, and of course all these pounds are in my ass (please see the disclaimer in my profile lol)! My pants do not fit! My tops are still fine, but let's not even talk about the pants... That is one of my reasons! I could combat smoking, I am sure I can take that weight off too. I do agree, having someone join you in this journey seems helpful. I do have a weight loss buddy, he is in the lifestyle too, so we plan on having LOTS of sex! Lol. Hey, it is exercise too! We both signed up for fatsecret dot com, to track our food intake. I though, I ate average amount of food, but when I put EVERYTHING down (and I do mean everything, I did not cheat), I was shocked at the number of calories. Now, I have always been a fan of Atkins and similar diets, but we are not discussing a diet choice now. Simply put, high fat, low carb diets encourage you to eat fat, but still, I did not expect to see all these calories. It was quite enlightening. We are able to view our food calendars, and that makes me think, "What will he say, when he sees what amount of food I ate?" I feel held accountable, and that works for me. By myself, I don't think, I would have much success trying to slim down. Writing the food down does take time, but how much time do we spend, goofing off in the forums on SLS...? Just saying lol. And losing weight is just a part of a bigger thing. Feeling better, healthier, and adopting a new way of life. Hell, I went with friends to a chinese buffet and that will blow any diet. But I was not going to deprive myself of a good time with friends, whom I had not seen for almost 2 years! I had my indulgence of (admittedly) fantastic chinese, laughing and cutting up. Today, back to normal, BETTER way of eating. I might be lighter than some on the scale, but I always have to fight hard for it. Now, I have to fight even harder. But I will make it! I could never lose weight just by cutting out soda or bread. So I do have to find my way. And I will.

I will see what the PT thinks, but I have worked with a dietician in the past and 2 pounds a week was always the max. desired for actual fat loss. We could lose 5 lbs of water weight Im sure, but a quick loss on the scale is not what I'm aiming for. 3 weekd for you? I think I will need longer because my metabolism is beyond dead.... not sure yet what mine should be.... Thank you Sed... I guess my 'history' of repeated failures is what allows me to say... "I'm going to keep trying". It was my way of being optimistically pessimistic I guess. It hasn't worked for me very well... so I officially whole heartedly and publicly say... " yes I can, no ifs, not buts, I can and I will. One foot in front of the other. And while I may on occasion fall off the bandwagon, it will not become habitual, and I will immediately get back and right on track." I do have my reasons why written down, I just didn't write them here. In short, my goal is... to feel better, to have more energy, and to feel increasingly more fit are at the top of the list ...and looking better is the plus that I very much want. I don't really care what size I end up, ...and not sure if this is a good thing, but not depending entirely on what the scale will say... I will know when my body is healthier, and my life is more active and all my clothes stored in boxes will fit me well again... and I will be very pleased. ...is that a bad way of looking at it? or ... should I be saying in 6 months I want to be down 40 pounds??

I'm pretty sure most with weight issues do also. I'm not sure what will 'break the cycle' for me, but I'm going to keep trying. KD, Every single person that I've met who was/is overweight has stated the same to me. My first question when I interview a client is, why do you want to lose weight. But that goes further than just stating, it has to come from inside of you, it has to become a mindset change from, I'm not sure, we'll see, hopefully I can do this, to yes I can, no ifs, not buts, I can and I will. One foot in front of the other. And while I may on occasion fall off the bandwagon, it will not become habitual, and I will immediately get back and right on track. Anyone want to lose 5 pounds with me? :))) Your list sounds good, if I were you, I'd start with, why I want to lose weight. You then proceed to goals and how you'll achieve them. But I'm sure that your PT will walk you through it. A word of advise if I may. PT's are not nutritionists, in the world of Personal Training, it is literally a crime for a PT to prescribe a diet to their client. Their job is to train.
