After a week in the deep south dealing w/ parents, I came home and weighed and I have lost a half pound (at least I didn't gain!). Was happy about that. We even went to the Paula Deen buffet at a casino the night before we flew back home. And I only had very small portions of things I thought I would like. So...

Today we all get back into exercising, and I also start a new class (college class, not exercise class). When we were at the hotel, the fitness room had an "out of order" sign on it, and I won't get down on the floor in a hotel room to exercise.

So, not too bad for January so far. Progress, not perfection.

Most of mine are attitude resolutions too. Never hurts to improve my outlook on things in a more positive manner.

Those are actually attitude resolutions, which make for an all around healthier person.

I'm going to try to stop being so critical...and think before I speak. I have the most wonderful husband anyone could hope for, and yet sometimes I pick at him...I am not sure why...maybe to get attention, a rise out of him (oh my, there are so much more wonderful ways to get a rise out of him!!!). I am so used to anger all around me, and still getting used to there NOT be, that sometimes I don't know how to respond.

So...an attitude resolution is a good idea.

I normally don't make resolutions, but this year I felt several were in order so I have a small list. Several were started before the New Years and they've already made a huge difference for me.

Gina and Dennis, Whatever amount of loss that makes you happy is perfect!

NC, Wonderful way to start the New Year. Kudos!

I think mine are more specific, because I need that. To lose 20 pounds (am I safe in here to say that small amount???). To try not to eat when I'm on the couch reading late at night. To finish one of the many books I've started. And to only use credit card for gasoline until spring at least, to see how much/little I spend with cash.

Well, the girls in my office have committed themselves to living healthy lives. I do not think they will eat like I eat (no refined sugars, barely any bread, lots of veggies) but I think it is good that they are taking back their bodies. I am going to be there to help them stay encouraged.
