Monogamy may be a societal institution but cheating is still a breach of trust with someone you purportedly love. You may think you are thumbing your nose at society but the truth is, you are betraying the one person who least deserves it.

I don't think my comment is all that shocking. I have a pretty long explanation for it That I'll post later. But in summary I believe that people are sexually monogamous because of society. And that it is actually contrary to nature.

I know for fact if we were not swingers we would both cheat. There is no doubt in my mind about that.
Fortunately we have been swingers since before we were married and have had honest open conversations about it. |

I have been a horrible cheater in the past when I was married, yes it was because of lack of sex and connection. Swinging with my Gf has eliminated it completely and my desire to even watch porn had been greatly reduced. We have had no issues in our sex lives prior but I view swinging as a healthy outlet for sexual energy and keep our relationship fresh. We still have along ways to go but every step we have taken has been amazing.

I think this is what Blue is referring to:
"Most of the men I know, and myself at the time, cheated because of a total lack of sex, and of intimacy, at home." I *think* this is meant to say that "those who cheat, did so for these reasons", not saying "most men cheat, and this is why". |
