We need more clubs like this that make you disrobe in order to go into the play area. seems to us that it promotes more play even if your not swapping.

The decor is--ahem--old-school. There are too many "couples" composed of old men with suspiciously young girls (aka hookers). But if you're interested in actual hot sex with other couples (mostly real couples), Le Trapeze is the only option in NYC. Checkmates looks better inside, and the staff is great, but it makes no effort to promote itself, and this reflects itself in sparse attendance. It doesn't even have a website. How can out-of-towners find out about it? The few couples who do show up all know one another, so the vibe is extremely cliquey and non-welcoming. Carousel, when it's open, is laid out with lots of nooks and crannies that guarantee virtually no interaction with other couples. Club Amante, in Brooklyn, is new. They're trying hard, but they're stiill very rough around the edges. First and foremost, it's simply too far from Manhattan (a $40 cab ride) and located in a neighborhood that would give most people the heebie-jeebies. Second, it's not conducive to swinging: unlike Trapeze, which has a no clothing policy in play areas, people wander about the corridors and playrooms fully clothed. There are WAY too many voyeurs, not enough players. Music in the lounge area is deafening, so it's impossible to talk. Oh, and in the winter--no heat. So you probably won't WANT to get naked anyway. Le Trapeze isn't the best club we could imagine, but it's the best NYC has to offer.

Anyone been to Le Trapeze recently? We're thinking of trying it out on a Saturday night but not sure how the place might be like. Is it clean, modern, etc and what is the crowd like? ... thanks!

Been there a few times. Not bad at all. Does need updating and we suggest attending on a friday or saturday night. Better crowd, (our opinion).

Went a few weeks ago on Saturday night. There were a lot
of couples that night. Only three real private rooms however.
Was quite a bit for my partner but now she wants to go back. Go figure!
If it was up to me I'd go every week.

We are contemplating a visit to this club, can anyone give us a little insight into what the club is like? We have heard that it is not upscale and may be very small, but we are not sure what that really means, anyone help us out?

We have been to La Trapeze about a half dozen times and have always had a great time. The premises are not very upscale (to say the least), but if you're looking for lots of anonymous hot sex, this place is it. Our favorite is the main room with mirrors on the ceiling -- very hot! The upstairs can get a little claustrophobic when it gets crowded, but all those naked bodies rubbing against each other! We would not recommend this club for beginners.
