You had better think twice about this place. We decided to give it a try after seeing the pics reading the website. Sounds great right? I am outdoorsy but this was horrendous. Drive in the dirt., park in the dirt & walk 1/4 mile carrying your stuff in the dirt until you get to what they advertise as the Hideaway. The pool had no water & the big jacuzzi had no heater so no jacuzzi, except a small 1 w/ dirty water that was not inviting. The entire grounds were messy w/ clutter & lots of debris. One small shower (sort of clean) & one bigger shower (dirty). The food was sparse & not good quality. Happy hour was a few chips, a little salsa, a 2 oz frozen fruit drink. 2nd's anyone? Oops we're all out. Breakfast - eggs & cakes - make your own on a old, non-working griddle. And don't forget the can of peaches. We felt as though we were staying w/ some old friends (all very nice ppl) but when paying these prices we would have liked some service. Scale of 1 to 10: we rate this a 3 at the most cuz they were friendly.

This is a diamond in the rough. Have you ever wanted to enjoy camping in the woods with other lifestyle couples? Located within the forest at 7000 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains, over looking a great vista of Lake Arrowhead. Hideaway Couples is our newest favorite place. If you want to go I will have to let you know about three things: 1) The last three & 1/2 miles driving in is on a barely maintained dirt road. Driving speed is between 5 and 10 mph. No need to wash the car and you should not have a long, low car or your going to drag. Trunks and SUV are much better. If you have a motor home the absolute largest recommended length is 30 feet. Even at 25 feet you may drag rear end. 5th wheels do much better. 2) Hideaway Couples is at 7000 feet on a mountain side. You should be able to climb four or five stories of stairs without getting winded! Everything is going up or down to get to. And when you return you have to go back up if you went down. The walk from the parking lot to the main cabin is about 1/8 of a mile with about a 100 foot drop down a dirt road. Pack light. Everything your bring you have to carry. Hint. Your going to spend most of your time naked. Some of the women do wear lingerie during and after dinner. Which is fine by me! High heals to be carried to the main cabin while you walk around in decent walking shoes or sandals. This was the best ever group of couples that were truly within HWP that I have seen. I did see a corn fed fellow that had a MILF wife. Corn fed did not do good at all. He mostly stayed on the couch in the large group cabin watching tv. Any where he tried to go he arrived badly winded. 3) If you drink to get drunk don't go! Hideaway is in the woods on a mountain side with minimal un-lit trails to get around on. If your drunk and trying to get back to your tent your going to walk off, trip, fall and roll down an embankment; most likely breaking bones. And it will be a very long time until ambulance will arrive while you lay there in the dirt and rocks. {See above about the road} If your a HWP, in decent shape couple that would like to walk around naked in the woods, enjoying playing with others while in the great out doors then go! There is a decent group play room in the main cabin to play in if the temperature drops to low to play around outside. Great looking and friendly couples. Really good home cooked food provided and you eat cafeteria style. Breaking bread with other couples is about the best way I think there is to break the ice. There are couples that live in the Greater Inland Empire Area that come up early on Saturday, enjoy the day, work on their tan, play in the forest, then head down the mountain to go play at Freedom Acres at night. Hideaway is open Friday at 4:00pm to Sunday at 4:00pm or also on holidays. 1st weekend in May to mid October. There are private events for full membership couples during the winter but you have to have a 4WD off road vehicle to get though the snow. Couples with full membership can stay during the week with prior approval. There are full membership couples that have built small vacation cabins. If you do not bring a camper you sleep on a queen size bed that is covered with a safari tent; which are very comfortable and quaint. There are 24 tents spread out through the forest. Hideaway Couples is a great place for lifestyle couples to enjoy the outdoors with other couples. Do a search for their website. The website also has good information on what and what not to bring. Enjoy!

What a great time we had, twenty couples enjoying a weekend in the sun and pines.

Many of the group asked, "why don't we do this more than once a year, this is great". Well we know we'll be back next year on Sept 12 - 13, 2009.

The staff are just great and the food is wonderful.

Well we've done it, we've filled the Hideaway in Green Valley Lake for the weekend.

BUT, you can come up for the day or stay in the area and join the group for the days and nights of fun.

We'll be back with comments from those attending and let you know what those attending for the first time think about their experience at the Hideaway.

We've spent a weekend in mid-August at Hideaway Couples the last two summers, and we love it. The people who run it are gracious, kind, considerate hosts, and each year they add new improvements. Our favorite feature: the Safari bed in the woods. We love getting naked in nature, and this place combines the solace of camping with the conviviality of a B&B and a freedom to get sexed up that makes it much more intriguing than a naturist resort. It has a relaxed, comfortable feel to it, but the group of people staying and visiting there made it quite sexy and erotic this last time. We wish we had the time to return there more often.

The Hideaways Couples, this is quite a place. It’s not a Hilton or Hyatt, which is one of Caren’s favorite, but if you love the outdoors and the smell of pines it is a great place. You have the freedom of being nude and the lifestyle, now that is a paradise in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California.

It’s a rustic place but with great people enjoying themselves. And no, their not as old as us, but they still let us old folds join…smiling. I think they describe is best when they say “A unique and very private clothing-optional club designed for adults to enjoy the outdoors and create new friendships with like-minded people”, it’s all that and more.

If you have been there lets have your thoughts.
