Kate Matthews was starting over. She had sold the homestead to the man who owned the saloon in town and had sent word to family further west she would be heading their way as soon as she had solidified the transaction of deeds, a struggle on it's own since she had been widowed at the young age of 27 when Travis had been bitten by the rattler two years prior.
