SLS -- A Story of Love, Sex, and Playing By the Rules

As a recent paid member of this site, I have been impressed by the quality of the people it seems to attract, especially compared to other sites, which often more closely resemble cess pools than inviting and safe places for people to share and meet. I like that rules and expectations are clearly stated, and that, for the most part, the members self-censor and abide by the rules, and those in charge enforce them if necessary. I especially like the quality of the top end story-telling, especially when done by those who understand the rules of grammar and how to proof-read. As one who dabbles in writing myself, I try to be reasonable in my expectations of others, and offer concrete support and suggestions when appropriate. I even chuckle when a random * appears in the middle of a word, when accidentally the letters "r… a… p… e…" appear consecutively in an otherwise innocent word…

But over the last couple of days, I have become concerned at the appearance of 2 stories, clearly related as a single stream by their titles and content, that are still listed under the "new" tab, despite multiple clicks on the "mark as inappropriate" tab; despite an earlier plea here by someone else to remove them, also disguised as a story; despite the assurance that such offending material will be dealt with. I took the liberty of creating a title for this that would attract people expecting a sex story -- for which I apologize for raising expectations falsely -- and writing a full, well-reasoned and expressed (imho) explanation, in the hopes of drawing enough attention to this significant breach of the rules of this site that appears to be sliding thru a crack, that it will lead to corrective action.

I also am taking the liberty of reposting here, as part of this request, the verbatim rules as they appear on the bottom of the index page, for reference (asterisks added to set of salient points by me):

"As new stories are added, they need to be reviewed, much like profiles and pictures. Some stories will NOT be appropriate for the site, **we ask for your help identifying such stories** as well as rating and categorizing stories.

"Any story that contains text about **Minors**, r*pe, **Animals** or any other illegal activity should be stamped as inappropriate.

"Also, stories with an average rating under 3 will be deleted from the site. As crappy stories get rated, they will be deleted. As great stories get rated, they will move to the top of the list."

I added the entire set of rules, because it is clear that my concerns over these 2 stories are not the only inaccuracies between what we users are being told to expect, and what those responsible for the site are actually doing. There are several seriously "crappy" stories, appropriately low rated, that have not disappeared from the new listings.

But, as relates to these 2 stories… in "Part I" we are introduced to the cast of characters -- the author, his fiancé, who has 2 minor daughters whose ages are given to confirm their status as minors, and others. We have presented to us the central plot element across both stories -- that several generations of the fiance's family have practiced incest, with an intimation (but not outright detail) that parents began teaching the next generation while they were still minors. Reasonable people can hold differing opinions as to whether this story -- in and of itself -- violates the rules above or not… the author is clever and careful here.

However, in Part 2, the story picks up exactly where it left off in Part 1. It includes a mention of a woman servicing a dog -- a clear violation. It then introduced the fiancé's younger daughter - by the same name used in Part 1 -- into the sexual activities. Given her mentioned age in Part 1, there can be no doubt here that she is a participating minor -- another clear violation.

In addition to Part 2 clearly being in violation itself, beyond question, the reading of both stories makes clear a second violation, and one which, I believe, calls for the removal of BOTH stories. Yet, BOTH stories, and their low ratings, bordering on extinction level according to the site's own rules, continue to appear, and have NOT been removed.

So I ask those of you who have read this far, who love this site as I do, BECAUSE of its rules, and the ethics of most who participate here, not to quietly allow this situation to continue. Because, if we remain quiet, and appear to be comfortable with this material, it will not be long until the overall quality of our experiences here is lowered by our inaction. Make your voices known, with low ratings, with clicks on the inappropriate button, and, if that does not work, by writing here as I have…

Because I couldn't help but notice how promptly I got an e-mail alerting me that my paid subscription is about to run out, and encouraging me to renew, I KNOW that those in charge are on top of things -- at least when it serves their purposes. All I ask is that they also do as they have promised us, and protect their site -- and ours -- from being defiled...
